“Hold me hold me, because I want to get higher”

Today was quite teary because I was with my Lord, Savior and Father and I felt like he wanted me to say this to him.

Little back story, these words are the words that my Dad always had me say when I was young and wanted to be held by him. I would look up at him with my hands raised up in a hold me gesture and sing those words.

Sometimes we just need to be held, as I write this I am not in a time of hurting or in need of that type of comfort, but there is simply so much delight in having him hold me. Even when I was child I didn’t ask my dad to hold me because I wanted to be comforted from my sadness. I just wanted to be close to my dad, I wanted to know his love, I wanted to hear his voice close to me, and yes I wanted to be held and feel safe in the arms of someone I trusted and loved. So yes hold me hold me, because I want to get higher father. I want to be close to you, I want to hear your voice in my ear, I want to feel your majesty, I want to hear your heart beat, I want to know your love for me and I want to see what you see. You are greater than I am, yet you love me so and you want to be close to me. You amaze me father. I am so in love with you, hold me high so I can hear your breath and see your purity. Hold me high so you can point out to me where to go and what to say. Put me on your shoulders and point out all that you made for me to see, delight in and see your glory through. I love you, I love the way you see things, I love the way you walk and talk, I love the way love is just you, you amaze me father.

I simply want to say to anyone who reads this to call out to the father and say “hold me hold me, because I want to get higher” because there is so much more to see of him and the world when he lifts you up.
